Where it started in New Zealand and Australia – The history of Vision Software
Vision Software is an award-winning software development company specialising in CRE and commercial property management in New Zealand and Australia.
1989 – Vision Computing was founded by John Nottingham who developed New Zealand’s first Windows-based veterinary practice management solution, VisionVPM. This would later become the most comprehensive integrated veterinary practice management solution in Australasia and was purchased by Provet in February 2007.
1994 – Mike Dennehy joined and helped develop and market Vision’s first property solutions – Real Estate Manager and Property Manager. The products found ready acceptance and Vision soon became market leader in both sectors in New Zealand.
1997 – Vision was named Best New Business in the Tauranga Regional Business Awards.
1998 – Vision sold Real Estate Manager and started development of VisionCPM (Commercial Property Manager) and VisionBCM (Body Corporate Manager). Property Manager was upgraded and became VisionRPM (Residential Property Manager).
2000 – Baden Turley joined the company as a Director and with a strong background in accounting, commercial property management and real estate and Turley helped develop and refine VisionCPM.
2004 – Vision Software Australia Pty Limited was incorporated. Preeti Bajaj joined the team as National Manager Australia and we set-up our first office in St Leonards, Sydney. In this year, Vision sold residential property management software interests to Console New Zealand Ltd.
2005 – Vision Computing changed its company name to Vision Software Limited, to reflect the trading name. This was also an award-winning year - Vision won the prestigious award of Best Business – Service Industry in the Westpac Regional Business Awards, and received a special judges’ commendation for a business with outstanding potential.
2007 – Baden Turley left the business and ownership was shared between John Nottingham and Mike Dennehy. The year also marked the launch of VisionCRE, a comprehensive integrated Corporate Real Estate solution.
2008 – Diane Stanbra was appointed Business Development Management, New Zealand and opened an office in Auckland. Diane managed business development in New Zealand whilst Mike managed the Australian market.
2014 – Vision Software was acquired by Qube Global Software, bringing its comprehensive suite of real estate management software products to the Australian market and complementing the existing Vision Software range.
